Sylvia Ceyer receives Undergraduate Departmental Advising Excellence Award

Sylvia T. Ceyer, the John C. Sheehan Professor of Chemistry, has been selected by the Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) Awards Committee to receive the 2026 Undergraduate Departmental Advising Excellence Award.
Ceyer was honored in recognition of her outstanding dedication to advising upper-level students within the Department of Chemistry. Recipients of this award demonstrate a profound commitment to fostering student success and providing invaluable guidance to the MIT community. This honor celebrates Ceyer’s pivotal role in shaping the educational experience and nurturing the academic growth of her students.
On May 5, 2026, Ceyer was presented with the award at a ceremony hosted by Professor David Darmofal, Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate and Graduate Education, and the Undergraduate Advising Center staff.
