Department of Chemistry Holiday Celebration 2018
The Department of Chemistry concluded 2018 with its annual Karaoke Holiday Party and the second annual Festive Sweater Competition.
On December 7, 2018, the Department of Chemistry celebrated its annual Karaoke Holiday Party, a fun-filled affair executed by Senior Administrative Assistant Emrick Elias. As in years past, hundreds of Chemistry Department students, faculty, and staff, along with their families, gathered in Walker Memorial to celebrate another year of accomplishments within the Department.
Festive comfort foods were served among rustic winter floral centerpieces, and the traditional karaoke spectacle was provided by Curtis Knight Entertainment and many talented faculty, staff, and students. As always, department members’ gifts for song shone in their impressive karaoke performances, as people sang both in groups and individually to a warmly receptive audience.
Several lucky raffle winners were awarded gift cards to Amazon.com by Department Head Tim Jamison, and the Festive Sweater Competition returned in full force. Guests truly pulled out the stops and arrived festooned with some truly stunning ensembles.
