Brett McGuire wins 2022 Helen B. Warner Prize from the American Astronomical Society

Class of 1943 Career Development Assistant Professor Brett McGuire has been named the 2022 Recipient of the Helen B. Warner Prize by the American Astronomical Society (AAS)

Awarded annually, this prize is given in recognition of a significant contribution to observational or theoretical astronomy by a young astronomer. McGuire is being awarded for pioneering research into complex astrophysical chemistry, including foundational work on chiral and aromatic molecules in the interstellar medium.

Research in the McGuire Group uses the tools of physical chemistry, molecular spectroscopy, and observational astrophysics to understand how the chemical ingredients for life evolve with and help shape the formation of stars and planets.
