Research in the Thach Group is focused on the discovery and development of catalytic transformations that expand conventional retrosynthetic logic and provide novel approaches to biomedically relevant compounds. Specifically, we will develop radical-based strategies for the selective functionalization of classically inert bonds and the efficient construction of complex molecular architectures. In pursuit of these goals, researchers in our group will develop expertise across the full spectrum of organic synthesis, from strategic retrosynthetic planning and reaction discovery to organometallic synthesis and catalyst development.
