Katherine L. Lee elected ACS District 1 Director

Katherine L. Lee (PhD '96) defeated incumbent Laura E. Pence in the 2018 American Chemical Society National Election.

Katherine L. Lee (PhD ’96), an associate research fellow in inflammation and immunology medicinal chemistry at Pfizer, was recently elected to the American Chemical Society’s Board of Directors as director of District 1, defeating incumbent University of Hartford Professor of Chemistry Laura E. Pence.

Lee completed her graduate studies as a student in Professor Rick Danheiser’s lab, and credits her MIT experience with teaching her “to be scientifically curious, to apply creativity as well as perseverance in [her] research, and to build relationships with [her] colleagues.”
