Department of Chemistry Unveils Newly Furnished Lobby
The addition of new furniture transforms the lobby of Building 18 into a community space.
The recent addition of chairs, coffee tables, and couches in the lobby of chemistry’s Dreyfus Building 18 was officially unveiled to members of the Department of Chemistry on Friday, October 6. Chemistry students, staff, and faculty gathered to celebrate their newest common space, and welcomed the crisp autumn air with an event featuring a variety of seasonal doughnuts, thanks to a Quality of Life grant from the School of Science. The main goal that motivated the Building 18 lobby furnishing was to establish a common area for all members of the department to gather, and the event proved to be a wonderful way to set that tone.
In 2004, the Camille & Henry Dreyfus Foundation funded the addition of the lobby to the existing Dreyfus Building.
