Congratulations to the Class of 2020!
23 undergraduate Chemistry Majors were awarded their degrees and honored for their accomplishments in a combined Departmental Zoom Celebration on May 28, 2020.
On Thursday, May 28, the 23 members of Courses 5 and 5-7 graduating class of 2020 were honored for their achievements and recognized by the department on the eve of the official MIT Online Commencement. Chemistry faculty and graduates gathered together in a Zoom meeting, which was presided over by Department Head Troy Van Voorhis and Associate Department Head Sylvia Ceyer. The celebration was then streamed live on YouTube for the graduates’ families and friends, in addition to fellow students and chemistry staff members, to view. Video tributes honoring the graduates’ years in the Department of Chemistry, and congratulatory messages from departmental staff, faculty, and alumni were presented, in addition to the graduates’ SB degrees and individual awards.
