On November 27, 2018, Professor Adriaan Bax (National Institutes of Health) visited MIT to deliver the John S. Waugh Lecture in Physical Chemistry. Established in 2017, this lectureship honors the late Professor John S. Waugh and his many pioneering contributions to nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
Professor Bax’s research is focused on developing new techniques and approaches for determining the structure and dynamics of bioactive molecules. His lecture was titled, “Opportunities and challenges of pressure-jump NMR spectroscopy in the study of protein folding”.
