Graduate Students Receive Degrees at the 2023 Advanced Degree Conferral Ceremony

The Department of Chemistry's 48 graduates received their advanced degrees and doctoral hoods on Wednesday, May 31.

On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, the Department of Chemistry presented 48 graduate students with their advanced degrees and doctoral hoods.

The School of Science held the Advanced Degree Conferral Ceremony in Kresge Auditorium’s Swarj Paul Theater, where graduates took in a keynote address given by Hakeem Oluseyi, an astrophysicist, author, STEM educator, multi-patented inventor, voice actor, TV personality, and science communicator

Following the degree conferral and School of Science reception, a reception for the Chemistry Department graduates and their families was held in the lobby of Building 18. Guests gathered on a warm spring evening and enjoyed refreshments and one another’s company.

The Department of Chemistry is immensely proud of the commendable efforts and achievements of its newly-minted PhD and SM recipients, and all were happy to celebrate their accomplishments.
