Students, postdocs, faculty and staff gathered at this biennial event at which 31 departmental and institute-wide organizations hosted informational booths.

On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, the Department of Chemistry hosted its second Resource Fair, an event that gathered thirty departmental and institute-wide groups in Walker Memorial for an afternoon filled with information, prizes, and festive refreshments like seasonal beverages, pretzel bites with assorted sweet and savory sauces, popcorn, and pies.

A Biennial Event

Established in 2016, the Resource Fair is an opportunity for members of the Department of Chemistry to familiarize themselves with all of the resources that are available to them on campus. The 2018 event expanded to 31 organizations at the second event, up from 25 organizations in 2016. Students, postdocs, faculty and staff were welcomed to Walker Memorial, where they were given promotional tote bags, t-shirts, stickers, and magnets, all bearing the logos of the organizations participating in the fair.

Attendees also had the chance to enter a raffle for one of three Amazon gift cards, if they had their Resource Fair Passport signed by representatives from the various organizations. Spencer Brucks (Postdoctoral Fellow, Kiessling Group), Gino Occhialini (Graduate Student), and Nathan Faialaga (Graduate Student, Danheiser Group) were the lucky winners.
