52 Graduate Students Receive Degrees in 2022 Advanced Degree Conferral Ceremony

The 2022 graduates received their advanced degrees and doctoral hoods at the first in-person ceremony in three years on Thursday, May 26.

On Thursday, May 26, 2022, the Department of Chemistry presented 52 graduate students with their advanced degrees and doctoral hoods at the first in-person Advanced Degree Conferral Ceremony since 2019.

The School of Science held the Advanced Degree Conferral Ceremony in Kresge Auditorium, and graduates enjoyed an inspiring keynote speech by Nancy Hopkins, Amgen Inc. Professor of Biology Emerita, Department of Biology, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research.

Following the degree conferral and School of Science reception, a reception for the Chemistry Department graduates and their families was held in the lobby of Building 18. Guests gathered on a beautiful spring day and enjoyed each other’s company, as well as desserts and soft drinks.

The Department of Chemistry is immensely proud of the commendable efforts and achievements of its newly-minted PhD and SM recipients, and all were happy to celebrate their accomplishments.
