eShipGlobal is MIT’s preferred method for shipping packages weighing 150 pounds or less (e.g., small parcels, not freight).
eShipGlobal makes shipping easier and more efficient, reduces errors, and helps to ensure compliance with applicable laws and shipping regulations. eShipGlobal allows you to compare delivery and pricing options for FedEx, UPS, and DHL, often resulting in cost savings and selection of the best delivery method to get your package to its destination.
- Effective 6/15/2026, MIT is introducing a new shipping policy and the eShipGlobal system will be required to ship all international and domestic shipments of research material, and all international shipments of any kind (with few exceptions).
- All faculty, staff, and students involved in shipping on behalf of MIT, will be required to take the Introduction to Shipping at MIT (FMO42300w) course which is available in the Atlas Learning Center.
Users will be required to take this course even if they have already been using the system.
- If a user has never used eShipGlobal before, and plans to ship on behalf of MIT, they will be required to create an account in eShipGlobal.
