Spring 2023 TA Assignment Preferences

Please complete the form below to indicate your ranked preferences for your Spring 2023 TA Assignment. We recommend that you list at least three choices. Please submit this form (or meet with Jennifer) no later than Tuesday, November 22nd.

The lab modules listed below are unique in both scheduling and content. Students typically TA 1 lab module during the term and there are 1 or 2 TAs per lab module (depending on class size). Each lab module runs for approximately 1/3 of the term and TAs typically teach both the Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday sections during that time period. 5.08 Fundamentals of Chemical Biology [Typically 1 TA slot available]
5.111 Principles of Chemical Science
5.12 Organic Chemistry I
5.601/5.602   Thermodynamics I (first half of term) & Thermodynamics II and Kinetics (second half of term), TAs will teach both halves. [Typically 2 TA slots available]
5.62 Physical Chemistry [Typically 1 TA slot available]
5.39  Research and Communication in Chemistry [Typically 1 or 2 TA slots available]

Lab Subjects:
5.310 Laboratory Chemistry (for non-majors)
5.351 Fundamentals of Spectroscopy (Lab Module 1)
5.352 Synthesis of Coordination Compound and Kinetics (Lab Module 2)
5.353 Macromolecular Prodrugs (Lab Module 3)
5.361: Expression and Purification of Enzyme Mutants & 5.362: Kinetics of Enzyme Inhibition (Lab Modules 4 & 5), TAs for these modules would need to be available for additional training the week before the regularly scheduled Lab TA Training in January
5.371: Continuous Flow Chemistry: Sustainable Conversion of Reclaimed Vegetable Oil into Biodiesel (Lab Module 7)
5.381 Quantum Dots (Lab Module 10)
5.382 Time- and Frequency-resolved Spectroscopy of Photosynthesis (Lab Module 11)
5.383 Fast-flow Peptide and Protein Synthesis (Lab Module 12)
