Dependent Care Support – Postdoc and Grad Student Travel

The Department of Chemistry is pleased to offer dependent care reimbursements for postdocs and graduate students traveling on MIT business.   The purpose of this program is to help offset the costs of additional childcare or dependent travel expenses that postdocs and grad students incur while attending conferences and other professional meetings.  Funds to support this program will be distributed as equitably as possible.

Requests for support can be submitted using the webform below and should be made as soon as possible before the trip and no later than two weeks in advance of the travel.   Allowed expenses include daycare or hourly childcare services; dependent economy air, train, and bus tickets; dependent hotel expenses; caregiver economy air, train, and bus tickets; and caregiver hotel expenses.  Receipts must be provided for expenses to be reimbursement.  To be eligible, individuals must hold active appointments in the Department of Chemistry.  Please contact Human Resources Administrator Michele Harris at mharris [at] mit.edu with questions on the allowability of dependent care expenses not listed above.
