James Burrington (PhD ’77) wins 2022 Edward W. Morley Award
This American Chemical Society award recognizes significant contributions to chemistry.
Dr. James D. Burrington (PhD ’77) has been named the recipient of the 2022 Edward W. Morley Award from the American Chemical Society. This regional award is given annually by the Cleveland Section in recognition of significant contributions to chemistry through achievements in research, teaching, engineering, research administration and public service, outstanding service to humanity, or to industrial progress.
Burrington is currently Principal Scientist at NiceChemistry.com and is a Lubrizol Corporate Fellow, Retired. He credits his years in the department, and his MIT degree overall, as being “profoundly influential” to his 43 year career in industrial chemistry. He holds 61 United States patents and is author of 47 scientific and technical publications.
Burrington will present the 2022 Morley Address on May 18 at the Morley Address and Dinner on the Case Western Reserve University campus.
