Graduate Student Spotlight: Daisy Ludlow

Categories: Research, Students

Chemistry Graduate Student Daisy Ludlow describes her research and answers 20 random questions as part of the Graduate Student Spotlight series.

Daisy Ludlow is currently in her second year at MIT. She lived in Los Angeles until the age of nine, when she then moved to Utah. A member of the Schlau-Cohen Lab, Daisy is currently working on using two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy to study photosynthetic light-harvesting complexes. This has applications in solar energy technology and improving crop yields.

“I wanted to pursue a PhD because I loved doing research as an undergraduate,” said Daisy. “I knew that to continue researching the problems that were most interesting to me, I should go to graduate school. I joined the Schlau-Cohen lab because I love spectroscopy and the applications of spectroscopy in studying biological systems.”

As the subject of this Graduate Student Spotlight, Daisy reveals the activity on her bucket list, the most famous people she’s met, the skill she’d like to master, and more!
