Department of Chemistry Welcomes Meg Fuchs as Director of Administration and Finance
Meg joins the Chemistry Department after 18 years at Harvard University.
The Department of Chemistry is pleased to welcome Meg Fuchs to its staff as the new Director of Administration and Finance. Meg succeeds Dr. Richard J. Wilk, who is retiring after more than 20 years of dedicated service to the department.
Meg joins the department following an 18-year tenure at Harvard University, where she most recently served as the Director of Administration and Facilities at The Harvard Forest. In that role, she oversaw business operations, financial management, and facilities functions for a major research division. Her leadership extended beyond operations; she successfully restructured administrative units to enhance supervision and mentoring, and she spearheaded the department’s first Code of Conduct initiative to improve community safety and accountability.
Earlier in her career, Meg served for two years in the Peace Corps, teaching English to over 400 middle and high school students. She holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Dartmouth College, as well as two advanced degrees: a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Religion and Theology from Harvard Divinity School and an Ed.M. in Higher Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
As the department’s senior administrator, Meg will oversee all core administrative functions, including:
- Personnel and Human Resources
- Financial Management
- Student Services
- Building Operations and Space Allocation
Please join us in welcoming Meg to the Department of Chemistry!
