Observed each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities past and present and showcases supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices that benefit employers and employees.
To raise awareness among our community during NDEAM, and all year long, we encourage all members of the Department of Chemistry community to familiarize themselves with the following valuable articles and resources:
- The American Chemical Society (ACS) Guide to Teaching Chemistry to Students with Disabilities
A Product of the ACS Committee on Chemists with Disabilities, 5th Edition -
Chemists With Disabilities
via Chemical and Engineering News, Volume 85, Issue 3 - MIT Disability and Access Services
Disability and Access Services (DAS) models best practices for access, enabling people of diverse abilities to engage with MIT. - MIT Disabilities Services and Medical Leaves Office (DSMLO)
DSMLO assists employees with sick and medical leaves and with obtaining accommodations for those with documented disabilities.
