Department of Chemistry welcomes Rebecca Reid to its Staff
Rebecca joins the Department of Chemistry as its Senior Financial Officer.
The Department of Chemistry is pleased to welcome Rebecca Reid to its staff as Senior Financial Officer, effective April 14, 2025.
Rebecca joins the Department of Chemistry from the MIT Media Lab where she began her career in finance in 2018 as a Financial Assistant, progressing to Assistant Financial Officer in 2019 and since 2021 has served as Financial Officer. She brings in-depth knowledge of sponsored accounting, budgeting, financial management, and operational efficiency to the position.
In this role, Rebecca will support the department’s strategic and operational goals through high-level financial management, including oversight of research, gift, and general accounts; development of budgets, forecasts, and financial models; and ensuring compliance with Institute and sponsor policies. She will also serve as a key resource to faculty and staff, and lead the supervision, training, and development of the department’s finance team.
