Corshai Williams, who will begin her graduate studies at MIT as a member of the Fall 2018 incoming class, was recently highlighted in an article by Liz Bowie of The Baltimore Sun

Williams first came to MIT in 2017, when she spent the summer as a Visting Scholar studying continuous-flow synthesis in Professor Tim Jamison's research lab and participated in the MIT ACCESS program. She graduated this spring from Virginia Union University, and will be the first person from her alma mater to attend graduate school at MIT. As Bowie's article describes, days before Williams received her bachelor's degree, in a surprise announcement by Virginia Union's president, Hakim J. Lucas, she was offered to return to the university as an assistant professor of Chemistry once she finishes her doctorate.

The Department of Chemistry is immensely proud of all of Williams' achievements, and looks forward to her return to MIT.
