** We are in the process of updating our procedures for on-campus PhD recruiting. Please contact Rebecca Teixeira, in the Chemistry Education Office regarding all Industrial Recruiting inquiries at email@example.com or 617-253-1851.**
For on-campus PhD recruiting during the Fall 2016 recruiting season, the Department of Chemistry strongly advises companies to visit during the second half of the month of August and in early September, when there is greater availability for interview space.
On-campus interview space must be arranged through the staff at Global Education & Career Development (GECD) at MIT. Interview sign-ups for Fall 2016 will open on May 11, 2016 at 12:00pm EST and the spaces in mid-September and later fill up quickly. For detailed instructions on how to reserve interview space with GECD, please see this helpful handout (PDF). More information about planning your on-campus visit through GECD is available on their website. Once you have reserved interview space, please contact the Chemistry Education Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) and our staff will assist you with publicizing your visit and arranging for an information session. If you experience any difficulty in reserving interview space, please contact the Chemistry Education Office.
Any on-campus recruiting of current students, post-doctoral fellows and researchers, and alumni is overseen by MIT's Global Education & Career Development (GECD). The staff at GECD coordinate on-campus interviews for a variety of companies big and small, throughout the course of the academic year. Please note that all on-campus recruiting, including PhD and alumni recruiting, is subject to GECD's Recruiting Policies. For more information about scheduling an on-campus visit, please read GECD's guide to planning an industrial recruiting visit online here: Plan Your Recruiting|GECD.
GECD has also compiled a helpful list of area amenities, such as parking information, hotels convenient to campus, and more: Plan Your Recruiting / Travel to Campus
If you would like to publicize a career opportunity with the MIT community but will not be conducting on-campus recruiting activities, we recommend that you post your position online through MIT's CareerBridge. CareerBridge postings are visible to the entire MIT community, including current students, post-doctoral fellows and researchers, and alumni. If you are new to using CareerBridge, please go to GECD's registration page for new employer contacts. Please note that the CareerBridge website works best in Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer. For assistance with CareerBridge, please email email@example.com.
The Department of Chemistry is also happy to distribute information about PhD employment opportunities with our senior graduate students and post-doctoral researchers. Please send any employment information you would like distributed by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
