Education

Academic subjects in chemistry at MIT, as well as the undergraduate and graduate programs, are primarily supported by the Chemistry Education Office. While answers to many questions about the undergraduate and graduate programs can be found online, current students are also encouraged to stop by at the office located in 6-205. The Chemistry Education Office is open from 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Jennifer Weisman administers both the undergraduate and graduate programs in chemistry. She counsels and advises chemistry PhD students, undergraduate majors, and other non-major undergraduates on department programs and policies. She also oversees the operation of the Chemistry Education Office and administers all education activities in the department.

Rebecca Teixeira provides administrative support for the graduate program, including graduate admissions and Visiting Student Weekend. She is also in charge of graduate student appointments.

Grace Kimball provides primary administrative support for the Chemistry Education Office and the undergraduate program. She is in charge of processing various undergraduate forms, including transfer credit applications and minor forms.

Jay Matthews provides direct support to all undergraduate and graduate chemistry subjects, including course scheduling, grading and evaluations, registration, classroom reservations, and Stellar course websites. Jay also oversees the department tutoring program.
