Chemistry Department welcomes John Grimes to its Staff

The Department of Chemistry is pleased to welcome John Grimes to its staff as the Operations Manager of the Department of Chemistry Instrumentation Facility (DCIF).

John comes to MIT from BASF Crop Protection, where he served as an Analytical Chemist, Structure Elucidation in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.  At BASF, John provided NMR and MRI support in a cross-functional setting for scientists within a global research organization, and was responsible for structural elucidation of small molecule environmental degradants and insect metabolites using a number of NMR techniques.  Prior to his time at BASF, John served as a Chemist at ChemoGenics Biopharma, an NMR Applications Scientist at LipoScience, a Metabolomics Laboratory Manager at Hamner UNC Institute for Drug Safety Sciences, and a Senior NMR Spectroscopist at GlaxoSmithKline.
