Dr. Alison Wendlandt, currently a Ruth L. Kirschstein NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Eric N. Jacobsen at Harvard University, will join the department as an Assistant Professor.

Wendlandt received her B.S. from the University of Chicago, her M.S. from Yale University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the guidance of Shannon S. Stahl. Wendlandt's doctoral dissertation focused on the development and mechanistic study of new quinone catalysts for aerobic C–N bond dehydrogenation reactions. Her research interests are in the area of organic chemistry, with an emphasis on the development and mechanistic study of new selective catalytic reactions.

Research in the Wendlandt Group will focus on the development of selective, catalytic transformations and the elucidation of their mechanisms.
